Bloody Mary Tomato Soup
Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 10:05AM This is a Frolic dinner party favourite. So easy to make and gets every dinner party off to a cracking start!
Ingredients
9 large ripe tomatoes
500ml tomato juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar
Juice of 1 lime
4 drops of Tabasco
Salt & Pepper
Lots of vodka!
Instructions
1. Place the tomatoes in a bowl and cover them in boiling water for 30 seconds.
2. Drain the water and slip off the skins.
3. Chop the tomatoes very finely and place in a medium-sized saucepan.
4. Bring the tomatoes up to a gentle simmer and let them cook for about 3 minutes.
5. Pour in the tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, limejuice and Tabasco and season with salt and pepper.
6. Do a bit of tasting – it might need a dash more Tabasco or another squeeze of lime.
7. Bring everything back up to simmering point.
8. Remove from heat.
9. Add vodka… as much as you think is necessary!
10. Serve to your happy guests.
