It’s a leap year; why not propose to your man!

It all began in the 5th century when St Bridget complained to St Patrick about the frustration women had to deal with waiting for their men to propose. St Patrick agreed that there would only be one day when these women would be allowed to propose and that was February 29th, one day every four years!

He also declared that if a woman were to be turned down, they were to be given a beautiful garment from the man! If you ask us, that’s a win win situation!

According to a recent Australian survey, only 20% of women believe in this tradition and would propose to the man they loved. However, not surprisingly, us Aussie ladies would still prefer for our future groom to pay for the ring.

According to the survey, Australian women also questioned how your anniversary would work in this situation. Some couples celebrate the day before and make the 29th an extra special day! Alternatively, some couples say that it adds spice to a marriage by only celebrating your anniversary every four years it keeps the marriage alive and fresh!

Ladies we say, why not! If you think you have found the right person, tell him! "The clock is running. Make the most of today. Time waits for no man. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present." Just think what a great story it will be to tell your kids and grandkids! Mum/Grandma couldn’t wait to marry your father/grandfather, she loved him too much, so she asked him first!
