Have you ever wondered what it would be like to drink the wine from the worlds oldest vines? Well now is your chance to find out!
We've teamed up with the wine experts at the Oak Barrel to bring you this exceptional vertical tasting, showcasing wines made from what is believed to be, the worlds oldest grapevines.
The Hewitson Old Garden Mourvedre Vertical Tasting will take place in the ambient Cellar Room at the Oak Barrel, 152 Elizabeth Street, at 6.30pm on Wednesday 2nd March.
Oak Barrel owner & wine expert Dr Paul Downie (more commonly known as the "WineDoctor") will be flying into Sydney for the night to personally present this impressive line up of wines. The Old Garden Mourvedre is made from grapes grown on vines reputed to be the oldest in the world - over 160 years old.
The universal acclaim from various wine critics speaks volumes for the quality and this tasting gives wine tragics a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the nuances and bottle development over the 8 vintages. The WineDoctor will also be showing an international Mourvédre from his private cellar to provide a comparison. This wine will be a pleasant surprise on the night.
